Description of Omarin
Omarin® (oil capsules) is a fish oil with a high concentration of the polyunsaturated omega–3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaen acid, 33%) and DHA (docosahexaen acid, 22%). To this combination of omega-3 fatty acids natural vitamin E (D-α-tocopherol) has been added to prevent oxidation of the oil.
The fatty acids in Omarin®are called essential because they can only be obtained through nutrition. However, research shows that our western diet is poor in fatty acids.
Omega-3 fatty acids have many functions in the human body: optimizing LDL- and HDL-cholesterol, triglycerid and fibrinogen concentrations, stimulation of supple muscles and joints.
Omarin®is also an ideal source of omega-3 fatty acids for pregnant women, especially during the first three months of the pregancy when the fetal nervous system is developed. Tests show that the omega-3 fatty acids in Omarin® are free of heavy metals and dioxins.
